Our Founders
Modway started in a Brooklyn garage, where orders were fulfilled by hand and delivered across the city one by one. Armed with nothing but a belief that the furniture industry had room for something better, that founding spirit still runs through everything Modway does today.

Shneur Zalman Hirsch was a co-founder of Modway and the heart of its product development from the very beginning. A brilliant businessman, he was known throughout his community for his warmth, generosity, and genuine care for the people around him. He passed away in October 2020 at the age of 39, leaving behind his wife and six children.
His contribution to Modway is woven into every product we make.
